From simple spays and neuters to complicated fracture repairs, Riverview Veterinary Hospitals have confident and competent surgeons capable of many different surgical procedures. For more complicated cases requiring referral, our staff will help you make the right choice to choose a specialist for your pet’s care. All of our surgical patients undergo a complete pre-operative physical exam and when appropriate bloodwork, urinalysis, blood pressure monitoring and x-rays. While under anesthesia, your pet will be under intense supervision, using a human-grade cardiac monitor to measure blood pressure and blood-oxygen saturation (Pulse oxymetery). Our surgical nurses have extensive experience assisting in surgery and anaesthesia.
Some of the procedures that we perform are Ovariohysterectomy (spay), Castration (neuter), tumor removal (skin tumors/masses, eyelid tumors), stomach and intestinal blockage, bladder surgery, kidney surgery, wound and abscess repair, urinary blockage, fracture repair (broken limbs, toes), femoral head ostectomy (hip dysplasia surgery), cruciate rupture and patellar luxations (knee surgery), bone biopsy and dental surgery.
We recommend pre-op exam and consultation before any surgery to make the procedure as safe as possible . Your pet may also need pre-op blood work and x-rays or other diagnostic procedures to assess the risk factors and choices of anesthetic agents/protocols.
We offer free consultation/exam before all elective surgeries/procedures like spay/neuter/dentals. This can be done on the day of the procedure or any other day before the procedure. Estimates are given at the time of consultation.
