Dermatology
Skin problems are the second most common reason for a trip to the vet. Ireland is full of fleas, ticks, mites, pollen, and grasses. Bacterial and yeast infections, food allergies and endocrine diseases (thyroid or Cushing’s disease) are also reasons for skin problems in your pet. Often times there are simple solutions to managing your pet’s skin problems, and sometimes further diagnostic tests are needed (skin scrapings, cytology/microscopic exam, culture and sensitivities, biopsy/histopathology, blood testing). We offer a full range of therapies for most types of skin problems, and can help guide you and your pet through the treatment plan.

Microchips
Thousands of pets are euthanized in shelters every year because they have been separated from their owners who cannot be located. A microchip is one of the best gifts you can give your pet - permanent identification that can be traced to you. We use Homeagain chips exclusively and include individual registration in the price of the chip, to ensure that your pet is re-united with you should it be found and scanned. It takes 10 seconds to implant and is relatively painless.
Rabbits and small mammals
Veterinary medicine for rabbits and other small mammals, sometimes referred to as “pocket pets,” is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatment of “pocket pets” such as rabbits and ferrets among others.
